Alanna likes to mix running and cross training to stay physically active for my mind, body and soul. She has completed 4 marathons and has found cross training to be an essential component for runners. When she was injured and could not run, she stumbled upon Inferno Hot Pilates at BREATHE Cambridge in Harvard Square. She was able to build strength and increase my flexibility. She loved everything about the class and the studio. The instructors, the music, and the vibes are what lead Alanna to to want to become an instructor.

ANDY
Andy discovered yoga in 2004 when his college roommate returned from a teacher training in LA and brought him to his first Bikram class. While the first class is a bit of a blur, by his 2nd class, Andy was hooked. The physical and mental demands that the class required transformed things for Andy in a major way, helping especially with depression and social anxiety.
After practicing ~5 times a week for 10 years, Andy took a break from the hot room in 2015. When BREATHE opened back up in the (COVID) Fall of 2020, Andy came in for his first class and fell back in love all over again. 4 years and 1000’s of classes later, Andy participated in his first teacher training in the winter of 2024, and is excited to be teaching BREATHE Strength to his favorite community in the world.
When he's not in the hot room, Andy runs a small web development company called Truly Good, enjoys biking through the city, listening to music 24/7 and spending as much time as possible with his 2 babies (ok, high schoolers).

CIELO
Cielo’s fitness journey began in high school, where she devoted much of her time to competing in bodybuilding competitions. Originally from the Northern Mariana Islands, her move to Boston for her studies at Harvard introduced new fitness challenges, and she found herself drifting away from weightlifting. In her search to stay active, she explored a variety of workouts across the city and soon discovered a passion for Pilates at our studio.
When she’s not in the hot room, you can find Cielo lifting weights at the gym or hitting the books as she powers through the remainder of her undergrad studies. After earning her Inferno Hot Pilates certification in May, she’s thrilled to join the Breathe team and share her love for fitness with this amazing community.
DREW
Drew completed his Yoga Teacher Training with the Sivananda School of Yoga in Madurai, India in 2015. Since then, he has taught classes in Middlebury, Vermont and Marblehead, Massachusetts. The foundation of his teaching is breathwork. From there, Drew works to pair breath with movement to create a moving meditation. Typically teaching a slower flow class, Drew then focuses on teaching the proper alignments for each pose. Attempting to create a laid back class atmosphere, with a healthy dose of 70s music in the background, Drew tries to challenge his students through fun and unique pose variations and sequences. In his free time, Drew enjoys skiing, hiking, reading and playing chess.

JASMINE
Jasmine grew up dancing, and after years of wear and tear on her body she discovered Hot 26 and started healing. Hot 26 provided a discipline similar to dance, and a community like no other. Jasmine has been practicing for 6 years and has competed in USA Yoga’s Asana Championship several times. During her yoga journey, Jasmine also discovered Inferno Hot Pilates. She fell in love with the energy of the class and decided to go to training in June 2017. She's been teaching IHP ever since.
Jasmine’s favorite part of teaching is seeing her students grow and empower themselves, and each other, in every class. That’s why after she took her first Buti Yoga class she knew this was the next training she wanted to experience. “Buti literally means, ‘a cure that’s been kept hidden or secret,’ and it’s full of big, free movements that make you connect with yourself and others in a whole new way.”
Jasmine went to Buti Yoga training in November 2018 and continues to teach the class at BREATHE Cambridge every month. She's also currently working on her BREATHE Strength certification. She feels lucky to bring these different forms of exercise to her students and to see how it impacts them mentally and physically. When she’s not in the hot room, Jasmine works as a Creative Project Manager.

JASON
Jason is an accomplished Sound Healing practitioner, having recently returned from his 4th annual 3+ month trip to Asia where he continued his education in this field. During his last trip, Jason gained 3 certifications in Sound Healing. He completed a 50-hour Intensive Sound Healing Training (IVT) with Sound Master Dimitri Miteff, where he gained extensive knowledge and experience in using various sound healing instruments such as drums, rattles, hand pans, steel tongue drums, didgeridoos, wood flutes, crystal bowls, and Shrutis. Jason learned to create both small and larger sound bath/meditation sessions, which have become popular in many wellness communities.
Additionally, Jason holds a Vibrational Therapy Certificate (levels 1 and 2) from the Light Spirit College & Clinic for Sound Therapy and Vibrational Medicine. This certification program taught him specific techniques using the Tibetan spiritual system of playing the Himalayan bowls on the body to relieve areas of injury and energetic and physical blockages, as well as couple treatments and treating various ailments. Jason's education in Sound Healing has spanned over a decade, beginning when he first discovered the powers of the Tibetan singing bowls on a Vipassana retreat in Thailand. After studying with some of the masters in Chang Mai, he continued his studies back in the US, combining Sound Healing techniques with his Training in Classical Pian at Boston Conservatory and Bass at Berklee College of music to create a landscape that is ideal for Meditation, Yoga, and Study.
During the pandemic, Jason furthered his training by spending eight months in Bali, where he honed his skills and released an album of healing music that focuses on bringing a sense of calm during these difficult times. Jason offers one-on-one Sound Healing sessions at BREATHE, where he helps clients achieve a sense of relaxation, clarity, and balance through the use of sound therapy.

JUSTIN
Justin moved to Boston in 2012 after completing his undergraduate studies in Biology, Human Physiology, and Forensic Science. Working on the mat as an avid Yoga Practitioner and Teacher, and off the mat as a Clinical Program Manager in Oncology, Justin's passion in life is supporting programs which have the ability to bring about transformative physical, mental, and emotional healing in others.
Hot 26 was Justin's first introduction to the practice of Yoga in 2013 with Bikram Yoga Boston, and quickly became a near daily friend, helping to break up the growing tedium of adult professional life. After 3+ years his regular practice was put on hold due to an accident which left him with a broken knee and jaw. Returning to the practice at BREATHE in 2022, he quickly developed a love affair with a multi-modality practice including Vinyasa, Yin, Meditation, Breathwork, Sound Healing, Hot 26, and Strength Training.
In his free time when not practicing Yoga, Justin enjoys cooking, singing, playing video games, and cozying up on the couch with his many animal companions and fiancé.
Justin completed his BREATHE Strength, Breathwork (Level 1), and 200 hour Vinyasa teacher trainings in 2024. Justin’s teaching philosophy centers around supporting students’ own abilities to reinforce their personal connections to mind, body, breath, self-love, healing, and community. He believes passionately in Yoga’s ability to guide us through a journey of self-discovery and growth, not just in the physical practice, but in how we might look more deeply inside ourselves and better exchange in positive ways with the world around us.
Justin loves to connect with his students and fellow practitioners, and is enthusiastic about providing safe and inclusive spaces where all students can feel supported in their practice. As a new teacher, Justin is excited to meet you on and off the mat and have the opportunity to act as your guide through your daily yoga journey!

KUMAR
Kumar became an Inferno Hot Pilates (IHP) instructor in July 2018. He was so passionate about the practice that he flew to Indianapolis just to get trained! Currently, he is one of the few teachers who are trained in levels I and II in IHP. Most people who have taken his classes have commented about how high energy and positive they are.
Growing up in Malaysia, yoga was surprisingly not a popular practice. Enrolling into a gym that had hot vinyasa in 2009, it was mind blowing for him. When he then moved to Miami, FL and needed hot yoga, he enrolled into a studio and became addicted to Bikram hot yoga (now known as Hot 26) in 2012. He continued practicing Bikram after moving to Boston. However, when the Bikram Yoga Boston studio introduced IHP, he was a little apprehensive. Noticing that his Bikram practice had reached a wall, he delved into IHP to improve strength and stamina. The practice of IHP truly is an amazing compliment to Bikram and felt like IHP was the Yin to Bikram being the Yang (Yin-Yang). The discipline of both the practices has now become an amazing addition to his life and his relaxation time.
When not in the hot room, you can find Kumar at his day job as a scientist at the Novartis Institute for BioMedical Research.
When Kumar is at BREATHE Cambridge, his infectious effervescence will be evident during every minute of the 60 minute IHP practice!

LINDSY
Lindsy is a Boston area native, born and raised in Medford, and has been teaching yoga since 2014. She is a dedicated student of the practice and has studied under the guidance of some of the most influential teachers in her career, including Ame Wren, Daniel Max and Tim Kelleher.
Her class style balances between playful fluidity and inquisitive structural alignment. She is deeply passionate about restorative yoga as well and believes in the importance of practicing stillness and rest, as much as movement and breath.
The moment Lindsy walked out of her first yoga class, she knew it would be a part of her life forever. Movement had always been a large part of her life growing up as a competitive gymnast and cheerleader, but there was a disconnect she did not know until that first time on a yoga mat.
At that time - in true Bostonian nature – she struggled with vulnerability, rarely shed a tear, and believed those feelings a weakness. One hour into her first class, she lay on her mat in savasana and began to cry. She knew from that moment on this practice would transform her life into something bigger, better, and more beautiful. She is now an E-RYT 500, and the idea that a student might someday experience that same sense of wholeness, embodiment and joy remains the most inspiring and rewarding part of her job.

LUCAS
Lucas began his career as a Tae-Kwon Do Instructor. After a major accident, including spinal injury and broken bones, his life changed significantly. In the years following, he suffered from chronic pain and depression.
Lucas managed his pain with medication and alternative therapy until one of his martial arts students invited him to his first Bikram Yoga (now known as Hot 26) class. Exercise had always made Lucas feel better, but there was something different about the Bikram practice that kept him coming back over and over. It proved to be one of the most influential choices of his life. There was a lasting healing effect. He began taking medication less often and eventually stopped taking it completely. As time goes by, his past injuries become more and more unrecognizable. He is increasingly more vital and happy.
In 2012, Lucas went to Bikram Yoga Teacher Training and then returned to Massachusetts to teach. He has dedicated himself to introducing others to the healing benefits of connecting their minds with their bodies to improve the quality of their mental, physical and emotional well-being. Through experience, quality mentoring, and continuing education, Lucas expands his understanding of what’s possible when we play an active intelligent role in our own self care and healing. Even outside out the yoga room, it is his passion. During the pandemic, Lucas and his sister started Restore The Balance Life. They use energy healing and energy therapy to help people connect with their inner being. If you are interested, you can find out more about them at www.restorethebalance.life
If you are new to yoga/energy work, here is my advice:
Come as you are and be satisfied with what you can do. Showing up is the first, most important thing. How deep you go and what you allow will vary each day, so let go of forcing an outcome. Make each moment an opportunity of connecting with yourself. Inside of class, be accepting of how you are. Outside of class, appreciate your life.
And always... BREATHE.
Lucas is looking forward to seeing you on your mat!

LYNN
In 2012, Lynn's sister-in-law convinced her to try a Hot26 class. During their car ride to the studio, Marilyn gave her the lowdown on the proper etiquette of the yoga room. Because Lynn is a firstborn perfectionist, the litany of rules and structured format immediately appealed to her. However, as a registered nurse (now retired), she was skeptical about any health benefits of this seemingly crazy type of yoga. Well, it only took one class to realize Hot26 is medicine and it heals. For Lynn, it was love at first sweat!
Then after a few years of practice, a teacher explained that yoga isn’t about the poses, it’s about what happens outside the hot room. What?!? Lynn was crushed and felt defeated. She had been working so hard to lock her knee and hold poses just as long as the experienced practitioners next to her. However, over time she began to understand what the instructor meant. She started to ask herself questions: "Am I the best version of me? Does this action/thought serve me anymore? Why am I here; what is my purpose?"
Creating time for introspection has led Lynn to where she is today. During the summer of 2022, Lynn completed a 200-hour Hot26 Training here at BREATHE. As a teacher, she hopes to serve as a vessel of empowerment. Perhaps while you’re struggling in a posture or resting in savasana, you too, will feel or hear that one message that sparks the initiative to honestly address your physical, mental, emotional and/or spiritual health. Although Lynn is passionate about Hot26, she thinks all yoga is good yoga, and firmly believes if every human did yoga, the world would be kinder, more peaceful and healthier.
Lynn's understanding and exploration of yogic life is still in its infancy. Someday she wants to travel to India. It would be so cool to delve deeper into ancient Sanskrit texts and learn more about the Ghosh lineage. Lynn is excited to continue her journey in the welcoming and supportive BREATHE community, aka: her home away from home.

MORGAN
Morgan began practicing Inferno Hot Pilates with BREATHE virtually at the start of the pandemic and she’s been side planking her way through life’s challenges ever since. Combined with her predisposed addictive personality, the boost of endorphins after each 60 minute class quickly turned inferno hot pilates into a passion of hers. Morgan completed the teacher training for IHP in October 2021 + the BREATHE Strength teaching training in February 2022. Meet her in the hot room for undeniable bops and an enthusiastic sweat session!
Outside of the hot room, Morgan is busy trying to get ‘The Wheels on the Bus’ out of her head + dried yogurt cleaned off of her (very likely matching) workout set after a full day of nannying. If she isn’t sweating at the studio or sweating chasing a toddler, Morgan is probably making absurd memes for her shared niche meme account for the tragic Bravo reality show ‘Vanderpump Rules’. Other skills include avoiding parking tickets, getting babies to nap, putting together silly outfits, overcommitting to a bit, baking cakes, and wondering if she should get bangs again. NORA
For over 20 years, Nora has been teaching yoga and dance classes to students of all ages. Nora took her first Yoga class in college as a dance major and was immediately drawn to a practice that not only helped her transform her body and mind into more connection, flexibility and strength but yoga helped her to love her body for the first time. Living much of her adult life in NYC, Nora completed her first 200-hour teacher training at Atmananda Yoga and started teaching Vinyasa classes in Brooklyn while also performing as a modern dancer and choreographer. She found Bikram in 2005 and was won over quickly by the healing properties of the heat. Her studies of Pilates, Feldenkrais and Katonah Yoga have also influenced her teaching practice.
Love and curiosity took her abroad and with the births of her two children while she was living in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, she started her study of Pre-Natal and Post-Natal Yoga. Returning to NYC with a baby and a toddler, she has since focused a lot of her teaching on the ages her children have passed through. While in NYC, Nora received her pre-natal Certificate through OM Yoga, Developmental Movement and Baby Yoga Certification with Ellynne Skove and her Kids Teacher Training through Karma Kids.
Since moving back to the Boston area in 2021, in addition to teaching at BREATHE, Nora also teaches LunchTime Yoga at Vivid Oblivion and kids classes at the Foundry in Cambridge. She also teaches privates, small group and is the Theater Arts and Dance Specialist at Cambridge Montessori School.
Nora’s yoga classes use Iyengar elements of alignment mixed with a conscious use of Vinyasa flow sequencing and a healthy dose of playfulness and movement to help students find a balance between effort and ease in their practice. When possible, she infuses her classes with hands on adjustments, core work and a lengthy final relaxation. Her classes are always musical, sweaty and filled with gratitude!

NINA
Nina was introduced to yoga as a 15 year old, taken to a Hot 26 class after track practice by her parents. The challenge of the hot room, combined with the rare sense of mental clarity and joy, brought Nina back to her practice again and again over the last 10 years.
Over the last few years of practicing at BREATHE, Nina’s practice has stabilized to a nearly-daily essential, a way to work through the joys and pains of being a person. Because of BREATHE, Nina’s approach to yoga (and life!) has transformed to prioritize curiosity and empowerment. The “what can my body try out today?” attitude is what drives Nina’s teaching approach and personal practice.

Rachel earned her RYT 200-hour teaching certification through the Rishikesh Yoga Teacher Training Center in Rishikesh, India, in January 2019. Rachel recently celebrated a decade of her yoga journey, starting her practice at the age of 14. "Since I was a teenager, I knew yoga would be a lifelong journey. Yoga has always been one of the first things that I look for when I come to a new place. When I moved to Cambridge from Burlington, VT in 2022, the first thing I searched for was a hot yoga studio. I am so lucky to have found BREATHE Cambridge and be a part of its incredible community," said Rachel.
In her practice, Rachel combines principles from Hatha, Ashtanga, and Vinyasa yoga. She truly enjoys the creativity that these styles of yoga offer her as an instructor, and she loves connecting postures in new and exciting ways. Rachel infuses her classes with the philosophy of yoga and encourages her students to explore not only the physical postures, but also how these experiences interact with us internally. She believes that yoga is a lifelong exploration of our body, mind, and spirit, and absolutely loves sharing, learning, and growing in her classes and practice.

REGAN
Ever since she was 3 years old, Regan has valued creativity in movement, as she grew up practicing all different styles of dance including ballet, jazz, hip-hop, modern, and lyrical.
It wasn’t until she was getting her Bachelors of Arts in chemistry from a small college in a small Ohio town when she first fell in love with yoga…power vinyasa flow to be more specific. She loves that vinyasa allows for creativity in postures and movements, and she always feels strong and empowered after a 60 to 90 minute practice. This ultimately lead to her desire to obtain her RYT 200.
Regan finally took that leap and completed her RYT 200 in October of 2023 with Akasha Yoga Academy after steadily practicing power vinyasa for 4 years.
Off the mat, Regan works full-time as a life science and healthcare consultant. She also continues to practice different styles of dance and is even a member of a heels company in the Boston area called Head to Heels: The Company. Most importantly, Regan takes great pride in her cooking abilities as well as her taste in music, and hopefully you’ll be able to enjoy one of her playlists during a power vinyasa class!

SHARON
From the very first time Sharon practiced Bikram Yoga in 2002, she knew she would practice this yoga for the rest of her life. She had been referred to Bikram Yoga (now known as Hot 26) by a Physical Therapist that was treating her for a running injury (plantar fasciitis) which was very slow to heal with traditional physical therapy. Sharon’s first class was on January 5, 2002 and she could not have loved it more!!! A few weeks after she started practicing, her injury had healed and she felt amazing. She practiced on average 5/6 days a week until an illness sidelined her practice in the fall of 2007. In November 2008, Sharon began practicing at Bikram Yoga Boston and since that time, has had a consistent practice, competing many 30 day and even a couple of 60 and 90 day challenges. This practice has truly given her so much: more energy, better sleep, better mood, increased flexibility, less arthritis pain, increased immunity – she rarely gets sick. In summary, this yoga has given Sharon better overall well-being and improved quality of life.
Sharon loves that this practice is for everyone! It is for Every Body. She believes that the hot room is the great equalizer. When we are in the hot room, we all must face ourselves in the front mirror, we are all struggling in some way as we are all doing our own self-work. All along Sharon knew that she wanted to teach this yoga. She attended teacher training in Spring 2017 and started teaching in July 2017. Seeing people come into the studio tired, stressed out, injured, etc. etc. and then leaving after class with a smile on their face and gratitude in their eyes is the best feeling!!! Being able to stand at the front of the hot room and personally witness this metamorphosis is truly an honor. Sharon plans on both practicing and teaching this yoga for the rest of my life.
In May 2018, she attended Inferno Hot Pilates teachers training. Practicing Inferno Hot Pilates has helped her strengthen her core and helped with healing a hamstring injury from a biking accident. IHP is the perfect complement to her Bikram practice, and she loves teaching it as well! In March 2019, Sharon attended Level 2 Inferno Hot Pilates teacher training.
Sharon looks forward to seeing you in the hot room soon!!!

SHELLEY
Shelley was living in NYC and had severe plantar fasciitis, so she was looking for something that was zero impact but still had cardiovascular benefit. One day she was hanging out in the Lower East Side, looked up, saw half naked people doing yoga and thought, “what is that? That’s interesting.” She went to her first Bikram class the next day (wearing sweatpants!) and never stopped.
She dabbled in Vinyasa classes and other types of yoga occasionally, but nothing ever stuck until Bikram. A bit later, she discovered the magic and fluidity and creativity of Vinyasa classes. So then that stuck, too.
Shelley took IHP training because she wanted to dip her toe into teaching but didn’t have the time or finances to take Bikram training. She loved teaching, but it was a passion project and side hustle...one that she never considered doing full-time until she found out that her home studio in Harvard Square was at the risk of closing. "So I did what I do - took a deep breath, took a risk, and dove into the jungle," she says.
A few years later, and with a few more trainings under her belt (Yin, Hot 26, Barkan and more), Shelley continues to lead BREATHE every day with love, wisdom and just the right amount of craziness.
