BREATHE WORKSHOP: Ashtanga Primary Series - Day 2

This workshop is designed for students interested in learning more about the Ashtanga Yoga system as prescribed by the Jois family from Mysore India. We will delve into the “system behind the system, the physical practice of vinyasa, and explore the philosophical underpinnings that make this form of practice a lifelong pursuit of interest and joy for yogis across the globe. This workshop is open to beginners and seasoned practitioners alike who wish gain a deeper understanding of Ashtanga practice.

Workshop will be held both Saturday and Sunday, 10-12:30. Each day will cover different material and parts of the ashtanga series, and are meant to build upon each other. It’s recommended to come to both, though it’s not required. Come to what you can.. :)

ABOUT RICH RAY

Rich Ray is a KPJAYI Level II authorized teacher. He is the director of Ashtanga Yoga Portland Maine. He has practiced the Ashtanga Yoga system along with Zen Buddhist meditation for over 20 years.

ABOUT AURA BERMUDEZ

As a psychologist, yoga practitioner and Ayurvedic Health Counselor, Aura's primary focus is on body and mental wellbeing through ancient practices that foster the power of health.

After living with anti-depressants and suffering from panic attacks, Aura attended her first yoga class in 2007 seeking holistic remedies. A couple of months later, she quit the meds and focused on cleaning up her diet and lifestyle. More than 10 years have passed and she continues to have a daily practice that brings her back to that harmony of focusing on routines and healing.

Aura has trained and studied under world renowned teachers like Doug Swenson, Day Christensen, Rich Ray, Kate O'Donnell, Kathryn Budig, and others.
